Description
From version 2026.08.01, the default configuration files are no longer a model to copy : they are
loaded at every start as the default layer behind environment.config and security.config, which
only need to hold the values differing from the default. A version introducing a new variable is
therefore installed without editing the site files.

For information only, no action is required : the installation of the version performs the change.

The former .template files are removed from {{hpa_base_dir}}/hpa by the installation, since they
are no longer read. environment.config and security.config are not modified and remain the only
files to edit : the .default files are replaced at every upgrade. environment.yml.template keeps
its name.
Upgrading steps
No manual action is required, the existing environment.config and security.config keep working
as a full copy of the defaults.
An environment.config copied from an older template repeats every default, which freezes them : a
default changed by a later version does not reach the installation. Reducing the file to its own
values is recommended :

The command lists the variables already holding the default and writes the result to
environment.config.cleaned without modifying anything. Once the result is checked, for example
with diff environment.config environment.config.cleaned :
./hpa_controller.sh clean_config --apply
The current environment.config is copied to environment.config.<date>-<time>.bak before being
rewritten. A variable is removed only when the resulting environment is strictly identical, so a
value differing from the default, an empty value chosen on purpose and a variable unknown to
environment.config.default are all preserved.
INTROSCOPE_BASEDIR is no longer defined nor read. A line setting it in environment.config has no
effect and is kept by clean_config, which only handles the HPA_ variables : it can be deleted.
