HPA Portal sections Navigators RUM - Real User Monitoring

Principles

To monitor web client application introduced in the latest Calypso versions, HPA monitor :

  • the page loaded by the user
  • the action done (click actions) on the button name
  • the server performance time to load data

No business information are recorded with this functionality (trade ID, customer information…). Metrics are mostly counters and response time.

A piece of Javascript is introduced with the main Calypso page, this javascript will send time to time a summary of the actions done by the user.

Metrics description

This page describe the new set of specific metrics for the Real User Monitoring (RUM).

Regarding personal information :
only the username is recorded to help support to investigate user performance problem.

Settings

New settings are available to enable or disable RUM monitoring and are described here

These settings can be modified by HPA administrator.

An advertising blocker can disturb the RUM agent
Calypso web URL must be marked as authorized exceptions for ad blockers
